accomplishing things

am feeling bouyant today because i am beginning to tackle some things that i have put off for a very long time - like paying off debts and losing weight. both are sucky, but it feels good to know that i, we, will really benefit from it in the long run. the process is hard, though. we are restricting our leisure activities in order to pay more to our creditors (thank god there are a lot of free things to do in chicago when it is warm), and i have been forcing vegetables down my throat in a way that i never have before (yuk!). the next thing that i have to do is motivate myself to get into the gym every day. this is the hardest thing in the world for me because i hate exercize, but we have a pretty good gym right in our building that is free to use. how crazy am i for not taking advantage of it? am going to see a nutritionist soon, and i am working on getting off of some of the meds that i take that have caused me to gain a lot of weight and not be able to take it off again. wish me luck!

we are going for a little picnic at the lake today, i think, if M ever gets out of bed. i think he stayed up very late watching terrible steven seagal movies, so he is still conked out at 12:10pm. so i am off to make potato salad. hmmmm.....just thought of something. potato salad is good because it has veggies in it (mine does anyway - i use a non-traditional recipe), but it is bad because of the dressing and its evil ability to make you eat a huge amount of it. maybe i should rethink this. urg... this getting heathy thing is most unpleasant!
